Get Ahead Gifts is an Australian-owned gift reminder and discovery service. Our reminders are free to use. To help cover the cost of running the service, we participate in affiliate programs with selected retailers and experience providers.

What an affiliate link is

When you tap "Shop" on a gift, you're sent to the retailer's own website through a tracked link. That link tells the retailer's affiliate program that the visit came from us. It doesn't change where you land, what you can buy, or what you pay.

How commissions work

If you buy something after following one of our links, the retailer may pay us a small percentage of the sale. Commission is paid by the retailer out of their own margin, usually weeks after the order is confirmed, and only on qualifying purchases. Not every link earns a commission — many of the gifts we shortlist earn us nothing at all.

You never pay more

Affiliate links never increase the price you pay. The price is exactly the same as visiting the retailer directly, and any sale, discount code or shipping offer the retailer runs still applies.

How we choose products

Every gift is added by hand. We look for a specific, in-stock product from an Australian-based retailer wherever possible, a clear product page, and a gift that suits a real person and occasion. We prioritise Australian-owned and Australian-stocked retailers where quality is comparable, and we remove anything whose link breaks, whose stock dries up, or that no longer meets our standard.

Do affiliate relationships affect rankings?

No. Nothing paid changes the order. Our shortlists and personalised suggestions are ordered by how well a gift fits the person, occasion and budget you've told us about — never by commission rate, and never by payment from a retailer. We do not accept payment for inclusion in a guide, a collection or a reminder email.

Prices and availability

Prices shown on our site are approximate and are shown as a guide only — we display them with "Approx." for that reason. Retailers set their own prices, stock and shipping, and these can change at any time. Always check the price, delivery timing and returns policy on the retailer's own page before buying. We are not the seller and aren't responsible for fulfilment, warranties or returns.

Sponsored content

We do not currently publish sponsored or paid placements. If that ever changes, any sponsored gift, guide or section will be clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership" at the point you see it, it will still have to meet the same selection standard, and it will never be presented as an ordinary editorial pick.

Shipping

We do not ship products ourselves. Every product you see is fulfilled by the retailer linked from that page. If we ever offer our own gift bundles, they'll be clearly marked as "Shipped by Get Ahead Gifts".
